Welcome to the 57th annual conference of the DGMS

We look forward to welcoming you next year to a city that stands for scientific curiosity, cultural diversity and historical dynamism like no other. Leipzig, the birthplace of great personalities in music, literature and science, from Bach and Mendelssohn to Goethe and Schiller, Leibniz, Ostwald and Heisenberg, is a place of new beginnings: politically, musically and scientifically. The city combines tradition and innovation, making it the perfect setting for our conference.

The event will take place in the modern, spacious and light-flooded rooms of the German University of Physical Education (DHfK) not far from the city center. Its clear architecture, good accessibility and functional equipment create optimal conditions for concentrated lectures, scientific exchange and lively discussions.

DGMS 2026 is dedicated to the diversity and innovative potential of mass spectrometry – from the latest developments in instrumentation and advanced analytical strategies to interdisciplinary applications in chemistry, life sciences, environmental analysis and medicine. This range reflects not only the multifaceted nature of our discipline, but also its central importance for current scientific issues.

Young scientists, postdocs, established experts – anyone interested in MS – are equally welcome to present their research, network and learn from each other. Especially in the spirit of change and innovation, we are focusing on a new concept for the poster presentations in 2026, with the aim of offering young scientists an even more lively forum for exchange, visibility and discussion at eye level.

We cordially invite you to actively participate in the conference – through your scientific contributions, through inspiring discussions and through your curiosity. Let‘s celebrate the diversity and future viability of mass spectrometry together – in a city that not only knows change, but shapes it.

We look forward to hearing from you, your ideas, your results and your perspectives.

Best regards,
The DGMS 2026 organization team
